Budget slots: Attaching budgets to reports

With budget slots, you can attach a specific budget to a report. This allows you to control which budget is displayed in the widgets on your reports.

Budget slots function differently depending on the license type. This guide explains how to attach a budget to a report for both license types.

Attaching a budget to a report with a bronze license

A bronze license includes a single budget slot, which is automatically created by StatBun. You can change the budget assigned to this slot, but you cannot create additional slots.

When the budget in the slot is changed, the update is automatically applied to the standard Budget and actual reporting view and all its widgets. 

1. Go to the Plan tab and click Budgeting.

2. Open the settings for Budget Slot 1 by clicking Settings.

3. Select the budget to attach to the report. Finally, click Save.

4. StatBun automatically updates the attached budget figures in the Budget and actual reporting-dashboard.

Attaching a budget to a report with a silver license

With a silver license, you can create as many budget slots as you need and attach the budgets you want to them.

You can also attach multiple budgets to the same budget slot, allowing you to compare different budgets side by side in the same widget. This makes it possible to, for example, compare budgets for different time periods side by side in your reports.

1. Go to the Plan tab and click Budgeting.

2. Create a new budget slot by clicking Create new slot. Give the budget slot a name and select one or more budgets to attach.

3. Go to the Report tab and open the budget report you want to edit.

4. Select the widget where you want to attach the budget. Open the widget menu by clicking the three dots in the top right corner and choose Edit.

5. The widget editor will open. To select the budgets to attach to your widget, click on the Budget ID in the editor’s right-hand panel.

6. Set the filter to Slot. Select one or more budget slots you want to attach to the widget.

Finally, click Done.

7. StatBun automatically updates the attached budget figures in the widget.
