With the budget input view settings, you can easily manage which data and numbers are displayed on your input view. You can choose which fields are visible and customize the default view to suit your needs. In this guide, we'll walk you through the entire toolbar of the input view to make it easy for you to get started with budgeting.
If you haven’t created a new budget yet, check out the guide on how to create a new budget first, and then continue with this guide.
Input mode
By activating the "Input mode" button, you can add numbers to the input view. Input mode is active when the button is purple. The numbers are saved to the input view by pressing the Enter key after entering the data.
Once you’ve entered all the necessary numbers, click the Input mode button again to deactivate it. This prevents accidental clicks and ensures that the numbers you entered remain unchanged.

Filter
The "Filter" feature allows you to hide accounts, cost centers, departments, products, projects, or other business areas imported into StatBun through your integration.
This makes it easier to review your input view and helps you quickly focus on the most important lines for budgeting.
How to use filtering:
- Click the "Filter" button in the toolbar.
- Click the "Filter" checkbox to activate the feature.
- All accounts are selected by default and visible in the input view. Uncheck the accounts you want to hide.
- The selected accounts will disappear from the input view.
- Close the filtering feature by clicking the "Close" button.
- When you no longer need filtering, uncheck the "Filter" box to bring all accounts back into view.
Settings
From the input view settings, you can customize the view to suit your needs.
Name
You can easily change the default budget name to something more descriptive. This helps keep budgets clearly distinguished from one another, making it easier to find the correct budget quickly.
Show hierarchy
When the "Show hierarchy" checkbox is selected, accounts and dimensions in the input view are grouped into levels, allowing you to expand or collapse information based on the hierarchy. If the hierarchy is disabled, all rows are displayed in a single view without grouping.
Hide empty rows
When the "Hide empty rows" checkbox is selected, only rows containing data are displayed in the input view. Empty rows are hidden, making the view cleaner and more focused on relevant information.
Sum row
When the "Sum row" checkbox is selected, a row is automatically added to the bottom of the input view. This row displays the totals for all monthly vertical columns, including budgeted and comparison data.
Coefficient
The "Coefficient" checkbox enables the use of a multiplier in the input view. When active, you can enter a coefficient that adjusts the input view's values proportionally. For example, a coefficient of 0.1 increases values by 10%, while -0.1 decreases them by 10%. This feature is particularly useful for making quick calculation adjustments, such as scenario analyses or forecast models.
Comparison columns
The "Comparison columns" feature allows you to view budgeted data alongside comparison data, such as accounting figures or another budget. In addition to selecting the comparison model, users can also define the starting month offset.
The starting month offset is set to -12 months by default. This means the comparison data is from the previous 12 months. However, this can be adjusted as needed. For example, you can manually change the starting month difference to -6 months to analyze trends over a half-year period.
Month and year selector
The "Month and year Selector" allows you to set the comparison period displayed in the input view. With this tool, you can easily choose a specific month and year to use as the reference data.
